Hampton Court Palace was the royal setting of our 6th RHS show of the summer, and the magnificent, newly branded Garden Festival did not disappoint. Set in the palace gardens flanking both sides of the famous Long Water, the event is the world’s largest annual flower show, boasting stunning Show Gardens, the Rose Marquee, Floral Marquee, plant pavilions and talks and demonstrations covering gardening, cookery and floristry. A floating stage provided the perfect location for musicians to entertain visitors relaxing in deckchairs the length of the water, and picnickers enjoyed the shade offered by the lines of lime trees.
Highlights of the show included the Rose Garden, host to world class specialist rose growers including David Austin, Peter Beale and Fryers, and the Duchess of Cambridge’s Back To Nature Garden which enjoyed its second showing of the summer and attracted crowds in their droves. In total the show attracts an average of 140,000 visitors per year and more flowers are sold per square mile at RHS Hampton Court than anywhere else in the U.K. We certainly enjoyed our most successful show to date, receiving a prestigious 4 star tradestand award and introducing a record number of customers to our beautiful flower boxes. We slightly updated our tradestand design once again, choosing to showcase our luxury flower boxes and adding additional signage and information for visitors.
The next, and final show of the summer is RHS Tatton Flower Show – and as this our local show we have something very special planned for the Flower School! As ever, keep an eye on our socials (@ixiaflowersuk) for updates on what we get up to between the shows!
